…with this guiding principle the new Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa Terranova Casa Organica opened its doors in May 2014 in Schaffhausen in the pedestrian zone. The salon & spa, which shines in all shades of green and earth colors, extends over 280 m² in the heart of the city – an extraordinary place that invites you to rest from head to toe and take a break from your everyday life. A special highlight: the integrated organic café. As soon as you enter the salon & spa, the guest is welcomed by the Aveda aromas and can immerse himself in the world of Terranova Casa Organica. Here Giancarlo Terranova – owner of the salon – and his highly qualified team would like to underline natural beauty.
Seven stylists and colorists understand the craftsmanship of haircutting and coloring as their passion, so that haircuts and colorations combine individuality, class and style. At eleven styling stations, four color stations and four washing stations with integrated massage function, the team makes time for the guest. A look at the individual type, the selection of the right cut and matches Aveda hair color from up to 96% herbal ingredients, which is gentle to the hair and at the same time delivers brilliant results. In addition to the salon area, the modern spa offers guests even more space to relax. In three treatment rooms, guests can be pampered from head to toe with soothing facial and body treatments. The extensive range of treatments offers relaxation, peace, security and a retreat from everyday life at the highest level. On the basis of a questionnaire before each treatment, the individual needs of the guest are determined, in order to bring the five elements infinity, air, fire, water and earth in alignment. With the help of a sensory journey, based on essential oils and a relaxing footbath, inner calm returns to enjoy the following treatment to the full. In addition, medical and sports massages are offered.
Only Aveda products are used in the salon and spa rooms, which touch the senses with their pure flower and plant essences and ensure a holistic well-being. In the retail area, which is located in the entrance, an absolut eye-catcher thanks to a green wall with real plants, guests can discover the aromatic world of Aveda by trying out all the products and receiving intensive advice on hair, skin and make-up.
The highlight of Terranova Casa Organica is adjacent to the retail area: the organic café. Here, guests can lounge and enjoy organic certified drinks and delicacies. For example, there are drinks from LemonAID and ChariTEA. An additional plus point: Terranova Casa Organica supports regions of the world that are not so privileged, with every bottle sold by the two suppliers. Part of the revenue is used to build schools or wells, for example.
In the interior, special attention was also given to the use of eco-friendly materials, further anchoring Aveda’s basic idea of “treating the environment with care and respect”: all plastics used are made of recycled PET. The aluminium and copper used are also made from recycled metals. The woods used are exclusively FSC-certified and come from the region. Terranova Casa Organica uses water and wind energy (CleanSolution from SHPower) for its energy requirements. Finally, textiles made from plant fibres with plasticizers made from plant oil seeds are used – these textiles can also be composted.
